Through fashion, Marie Princesse Ndoun Issie expresses pride in African heritage
In the 1970s in Cameroon, fashion was marked by personal expression and a unique blend of African traditions and Western influences, putting African colorful fabrics in the spotlight, enhanced by precious accessories.
This heritage, where fashion affirmed identity, continues to be inspirational today. The African fabrics, vibrant and noble, weave a link between generations, uniting tradition and modernity in a constant dialogue.

“This is how fashion evolves, yesterday’s trends feed into today’s, in a perpetual cycle of reinterpretation”, believes Marie Princesse Ndoun Issie, who’s been preparing to represent Cameroon at the 72nd edition of Miss World.
And she continued: “After introspection focused on my goals and social project, I am convinced of the essential role of a beauty queen, beyond looks. So I am ready to proudly represent Cameroon at Miss World, inspired by the heritage of the African woman, who shapes beauty and affirmation of our identity. I believe in the modern woman who cherishes a touch of tradition, a perfect blend of yesterday and today”.
